About us
With its gastronomic history dating back over 100 years (originally built as a farm in 1800, in 1909 it was rebuilt to become a guesthouse and has been continually developed to this day) </em>Gasthof Oberstegen is still a purely family managed 3-star business, in typically Tyrolean country house style with an adjoining farmstead.

in one of the loveliest regions in Austria, in Söll, at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser
and the Hohe Salve, between Kufstein and Kitzbühel.

The Schernthanners:
Berta & Hans, the senior citizens, always on the go! Berta looking after the guests at the regulars’ table and Hans, always around about the hotel, in the farm and in particular taking care of his "Butter deer´s" (cows), and of course always ready to have a ‘natter“.
The Blankenhorns:
Evelyn & Marcus, both are always there and ready to listen to guests. Evelyn, the hotel's good fairy, always around in case of "emergency". In charge of Reception, and taking care of our guests suggestions and needs. Marcus, head chef, takes care of all the culinary aspects, along with his team. He prefers to cook with regional produce from local suppliers and farmers.
Johannes, Theresa and Florian, the third generation.
All three who are enthusiastic about farming and gastronomy. Johannes, our successor for house and farm, in 2019 with a successful graduation at "Ursprung", the higher agricultural technical state college in Elixhausen near Salzburg. Theresa, with school graduation from the agricultural state college "Weitau" in St.Johann in Tirol, currently apprentice at the Hotel Der Bär in Ellmau, while Florian, our engineering candidate for business and IT, currently in the college "HTL Anichstraße" in Innsbruck.
Not to forget our year-round agriculture with 10 dairy cows, 8 young cattle and 4 calves, who spend the summer months (end of May to end of September) on our Grießenboden-Alm in Fieberbrunn. There are also 2 pigs and a small flock of chickens.
